A NOTE OF THANKS……

2008 SPRING TRANSITION CONFERENCE IN REVIEW

(Touch the Future:  Light the Way)

Thanks so much for your attendance at our 2008 Spring Conference which was held April 23-25, 2008 in High Point, NC.  Our success would not have been attainable without your cooperation.

The conference opened with a “bang” with our Keynote Speaker, Tawana Williams who presented us her life journey in “Unarmed but Dangerous”.  This dynamic presentation was followed by our NCDCDT Social which served up some great food and opportunity for networking into the night.

After a good night’s sleep, the day ahead was filled with thirty-two sessions that covered several topics in the Transition arena.  Presentations were available on Transition Assessments, Transition Components, OCS scheduling, PBS Strategies, Middle School Transition Planning, Working with Adolescent Males, etc.  To end out a day of work certainly constituted an evening of  relaxation and networking, the “Night @ Nobles” was wonderful with complimentary hors d’oeuveres provided by NCDCDT.  Nobles offered the perfect rustically elegant atmosphere of an Italian villa that certainly enhanced the art of networking.

On Friday, the last day started with a Breakfast Buffet that featured all the “fixins” of a southern breakfast.  Six additional sessions and a finale  which featured Freda Lee with DPI Updates and a presentation on the NCDCDT Transition Bowl.

The 2008 Spring Conference is over and 2009 Spring Conference is yet to come…join us for another exciting venture on April 29 - May 1, 2009 at the North Raleigh Hilton, Raleigh, NC.

THANKS,

2008 Spring Conference Coordinator – Linda Little
