OCS PAID EMPLOYMENT WAIVER

In light of the current economic and employment conditions, the NC State Board of Education, on the recommendation of the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, agreed to waive the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 paid employment component of the work experience requirement for graduation with a NC High School Diploma. Non-paid work experiences were to be substituted in cases where students sought, but could not find paid employment. See Paid Employment Waiver.

DPI OFFERS INSIGHTS INTO UPCOMING COURSES OF STUDY

At the 2009 NCDCDT Spring Conference, Freda Lee, Consultant, EC Division of DPI, gave an outline of the upcoming Future-Ready Core Course of Study, and the proposed changes in the Occupational Course of Study. See NCDCDT Presentation 2009.
